Daemonium Cattus

This shady guy is a guy who uses many aliases. That's because he likes to assume different identities sometimes. Some of those names came from others who nicknamed him based on his looks or how he acts. Assuming identities that he didn't come up with require work, lots of risk, or both depending on how complicated their appearance can look. The risk comes from having to stand in their shadow to mimic them if it's difficult to take on a form just by looking at a full-body image. While he can acquire forms from peoples' shadows, he can also hide in shadows and even manipulate them like a puppet show.

He's some kind of unholy entity of 1000 years of age that took on the primary form of a 6'6" tall classy anthropomorphic tuxedo cat with a keen interest in fine liquor and old movies (by "old" I pretty much mean that said movies match his color scheme). Sometimes he'll be very bored one night, get drunk off his ass, watch a mediocre movie, and criticize it MST3K style (with slurred speech, depending on how hammered he gets). While he also loves swing music, he isn't completely old-fashioned and is capable of keeping up with the times; electro-swing has recently been added to his favorite genres next to jazz and classical music. His interest in antique things isn't only limited to music, movies, and wine, though; he is also fascinated with old abandoned buildings and would sometimes squat in them to enjoy the quietness of the area by himself. If it happened to be haunted, he'd quarrel with the ghost(s) and often tell them to "go to a hellhouse" if drunk enough.

Because of his shapeshifting tendencies, one of the aliases that stuck with him the most was "Shifty". He just slapped on the fancy last name from a name someone gave him, "Mr. Nosanity". While he's not completely bonkers, he likes making people think they're losing their sanity by creeping around their peripheral vision and even sometimes in plain sight when in very dark places. He frequently messes with people who get small amounts of sleep, making himself appear more often the less sleep they get. That earned him the alias "Sandman" and "Sandy" by someone who made the loose association between him appearing and them needing sleep. The "Z" shape of Shifty's whiskers doesn't help him at all in that case. He used to wear a normal black tie before earning those names but decided to accentuate it with a glass hourglass with black sand inside afterwards. The white spot on his head seems to change shape with the changing moon phases, looking more like a third eye with a white outline when there's a new moon in the sky. He tries to cover it with the hair on his head because he'd been teased with the nickname "Moonshine" before by an annoying friend of his.

Shifty's pretty much the kind of guy who'd say something like, "How do you do? Who am I? Who cares?! Did you know you talk in your sleep? Just thought you'd like to know. You spoke exactly 1,035 words! Quite the chatterbox."
To weird strangers out sometimes, he acts like a creep with no filter on the thoughts he would keep to himself, all while insisting he's their new best friend to try and snake his way into a potential goldmine. If someone asked his name, he'd come up with a random alias or deny their question and claim it doesn't matter, saying something along the lines of "Do I really need a label, buddy?" with a wink and a big toothy grin. In the uncommon case where he is genuinely friendly, he cuts the conman bullshit and can be a pretty chill dude. Otherwise, an unlucky encounter with him would leave no evidence but a pile of bones behind from a sentient meal that would keep his infernal hunger satisfied for another 243,251 days.

Bonus: He's Majin's stepfather, and is the closest thing to a parental figure she ever had. While he tried to teach her his ways of shapeshifting, she simply couldn't grasp the shadow manipulation (and looking like a perfect carbon copy) and went with basic contact for acquiring new forms. Despite being very close with her, she still doesn't know how the hell he came into existence; that's one thing he won't let slip.
